We develop real projects through critical methodology, social engagement, and community grounding.
Caboclos is a production house and community arts initiative that places creativity, collaboration, and cultural expression at its heart. Specialising in music, dance, and cross-artform work, we produce bold artistic projects and educational experiences that bring people together across generations and backgrounds.
While our work is especially focused on young people, we believe in the power of intergenerational exchange, and design projects that connect communities through shared creative practice.
At the core of our mission is a belief in the arts as a tool for social transformation. We are committed to creating opportunities for underrepresented voices, empowering individuals and communities to express themselves, grow in confidence, and help shape a more inclusive cultural landscape.
Creativity is our cornerstone. It fuels our projects, builds skills, and encourages people to explore who they are in relation to others and to the world around them. Through dance, music, storytelling, and play, we support participants in discovering their unique artistic voices.
For us, creativity is more than an activity—it’s a journey toward self-expression, freedom, and connection. Whether on stage, in schools, or in local spaces, Caboclos nurtures environments where people can thrive artistically and personally.
Adriano Adewale is a joyful, generous creative force with over 20 years of experience in the arts, particularly in music. As a percussionist, composer, performer, and educator, he has travelled the globe, sharing his vibrant artistry across schools, concert halls, and renowned international festivals such as WOMAD and Umeå Jazz Festival.
His journey into production began more than a decade ago—born from a desire to shape sustainable artistic frameworks that support both his creative vision and underserved communities. For Adriano, production is not just about logistics, but about opening doors: creating access to high-quality music education, championing diversity, and cultivating equity in the arts.
Through Caboclos, Adriano envisioned a platform that connects disciplines, builds collaborations, and supports cultural expression—especially in music and dance. This vision has led to partnerships with companies such as Phoenix Dance Theatre and Serious Productions, and most recently the creation of a new multi-arts festival in Southeast London.
He has curated events like the Festival Brasileiro at Colchester Arts Centre, the World Beats Festival at Wiltshire Music Centre, and the vibrant Catapluf Festival, where he also serves as artistic director. His own projects, including The Adriano Adewale Group and Catapluf, have toured internationally, celebrated for their creativity and cross-cultural roots.
Adriano continues to dream big. Whether producing, performing, or mentoring, his goal is to inspire the next generation—encouraging young people to dream boldly and uphold the highest standards of artistic excellence, especially in projects that unite music, dance, and other art forms.
Carolina Paulino is a dynamic dancer, movement director, and producer whose work bridges the worlds of classical ballet and Afro-Brazilian traditional dance. She trained in ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and deepened her knowledge of Brazil’s rich dance heritage at the Bincante Cultural Centre in São Paulo.
Her early career saw her performing as a principal ballet dancer and working on large-scale productions, including Disney’s iconic The Lion King musical. Yet, despite these opportunities, Carolina encountered the limitations of a dance world lacking diversity and inclusivity. These experiences led her to explore new pathways—studying contemporary dance and traditional forms, and ultimately developing her own movement method that blends classical ballet, Afro-Brazilian dance, and practices that promote wellbeing and embodiment.
Carolina has also made her mark as a producer and educator, creating performances involving over 40 dancers, and coordinating whole-school events with up to 300 participants. Her approach to production is driven by a deep desire to transform the dance environment—making space for those historically excluded and offering the kind of opportunities she once searched for herself.
As co-producer of the Catapluf Festival, Carolina leads on educational programming. Her workshops and initiatives invite children and young people to create new work, learn through movement, and develop their artistic confidence in inclusive and affirming settings.
With every project, Carolina brings vision, care, and a commitment to building a more open and expressive future for dance.
